Earth Day Action Challenge

Written by: Alie McDougall

Every year since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated by millions of people around the globe. As April 22nd approaches, you might hear people talking about the drastic effects of climate change or the importance of environmental action at a federal level but you may be wondering what you can do to celebrate and give back to the Earth.

Here are three tasks that we challenge you to complete by April 22nd to celebrate the 51st Earth Day!

  1. Calculate your carbon footprint and then talk to someone about the results! What do the numbers represent? What are some actionable steps you can take to lower your impact on the environment?

  2. Complete a trash cleanup or a beach cleanup! Visit a local park or beach and fill a few bags with trash, you can even bring some friends along to complete this task with you.

  3. Take this pledge and write a letter or email to your local representatives demanding climate action.
